As for competency based credentials, IPMA is far from being alone.  The Australian based AIPM was one of the first to develop a true competency based credential, and more recently, the Global Alliance for Project Performance Standards (GAPPS) www.globalpmstandards.org was formed as the ONLY competency standard setting organization that is INDEPENDENT of any particular body of knowledge, methodology or philosophy.  More importantly, GAPPS has put their standards into the &quot;public domain&quot; under &quot;creative commons&quot; (open source) licensing arrangements.
